The training that I provide is not traditional command based training.  My approach to achieving calm and respectful dogs is based on the principles of dog psychology.  Basically stated, if dog owners can be pack leaders by projecting calm, assertive energy, learning the language of dog whispering, then they can correct unwanted behaviors in their pets.  Another important aspect of influencing a dog’s behavior is a commitment to making sure that his basic needs are being met.  More Session Info...

I have had and trained dogs most of my life.   My mom and dad would tell you that I came out of the womb asking for a dog!  Although I was very persistent, they didn’t give in until I was 14.  Once I started living with dogs, I didn’t stop!  But even before that I worked with neighborhood dogs gaining valuable experience.  Since then, I have trained my dogs and others’ dogs in Agility and Obedience using reward based training and clicker training with great success.

However, there was always a gap between the ideal and reliable response from a dog and the response that actually occurred.  If you are like many of my clients, when you tell your dog to “Come”, she doesn’t always come, no matter how much training you do.

Another gap between what I wanted to do and what actually occurred, existed for dogs with serious issues.  Aggression, fear, and dominance were very difficult for me to rehabilitate completely.  The time involved was very lengthy and the results were less than satisfactory to me.

This gap was perfectly filled by Cesar Millan’s Pack Leader philosophy.  I studied everything available on his method and put it to work on all my clients’ and friends’ dogs.  The difference in the dogs’ response and behavior was so dramatic, so quickly that Cesar’s method is all that I teach now.  You may wonder if it works as well as it does on TV.  In all but the most unbalanced dogs, I am here to tell you that it does!  If you don’t want me to help you with your dog, please consider reading Cesar’s books and watching his TV show on the National Geographic Channel.

I am the official Trainer for Dogtopia in North Raleigh and work with Pupsi (Cary), Camp Bow Wow (Cary) and Furry Feet Retreat (Cary.)
